The Sheila Poole Race is a 10 km race run over a certified course and is registered with Run Nova Scotia. The race is also on the Timex Series.

The race begins in Frost Park and proceeds up Route 1 along the shoreline of Lake Milo. The first turn off Route 1 is left onto Dayton Road towards Lakeside Drive. The runners will then follow Dayton Road until reaching Lakeside Drive where another left turn will point the runner back toward the finish. Upon reaching Vancouver Street the participants will take another left turn and are now on the home stretch. A right turn off Vancouver Street onto Water Street will lead the runners to the finish line at Killam Brothers Wharf.
